Seeded Rib Check Hats & Fingerless Mitts

About The Design:

For years, I’ve been worsted-spinning many weights of US-grown and processed Falkland wool singles. This pattern is the first, using my handspun, in 3 weights: bulky, super bulky, and mega bulky, for quick-to-knit winter wear and holiday gifts!

The knit and purl texture pattern is great for a beginning circular knitter, yet is still enjoyable for an experienced knitter. I topped two of the hats with an I-cord embellishment, but of course, the hats can be left plain, or topped with a traditional pompom.

The hats are in 3 to 4 sizes, to wear fitted, as a traditional cap, or loose and large, as a slouchy cap. All the fingerless mitts have 3 sizes, giving plenty of ways to knit the pattern! Sizes to fit a medium child through large adult.

Bulky: 12 sts & 18 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st with size 11 ndls; and 11 sts & 15 rows = 3” (7.5 cm) with size 10 ndls.

Super Bulky: 11 sts & 15 rows = 4” in St st with size 13 ndls; and 10 sts & 13.5 rows = 3” with size 10.5 ndls.
